During the Korean war, people in Korea were frightened and thought the worst of what was to come, but when the United States came to assist the people in Korea they were filled with hope. The war took about five million lives, making the war tragic to other family members. By June 1951, the United States had withdrawn its remaining forces from South Korea and left behind the "500- man made military Advisory Group to train the Republic of Korean Forces (Tucker Spencer C)." In the late 1950's, South Korea and the U.S marched into North Korea. Them doing this made communist Chinese forces get involved in the war. The United Nations wanted North Korea to back down to the 38th parallel.
Quote: " The American intervention turned the tide, and the U.S. and South Korean forces marched into North Korea. This action, however, prompted the massive intervention of communist Chinese forces in late 1950."
This picture shows how North Korea captured prisoners of war and treated them harshly (prisoner exchange).
